The rain that many have been praying for has finally arrived.I hope that the farmers here in California will not have to have their water supply rationed off because of fear of a drought. We have suffered through two years of below normal rainfall. It reminds of the prophet Elijah who told King Ahab that it would not rain in Israel unto he said so.He made that proclamation because of the wickedness of the people.Their land became dry just like their spiritual lives had become dry.I wonder if our spiritual lives here in California have become dry.Certainly, our passion for the things of God is not what it used to be.Our hunger for the Word of God has become dormant. We desire to read books about the Word of God than read the Word of God.I wonder if God is trying to get our attention by the lack of rain in order for us to turn our hearts back to Him.I wonder if the economic crisis that we are facing is God's way of getting us to seek Him.If so, I want to challenge every believer who will read this to take this advice that is found in Jeremiah 29:12&13, "Then shall ye call upon Me, and ye shall go and pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you.And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart."I believe as we seek God's face the rains will continue to come, the people of God will prosper even in this economic crisis and God will receive all the Glory.
